Description:
The proposed Air Separation Plant employs an external compression process in which air is purified by molecular sieve at normal temperature, high/low temperature booster expansion turbine is used to produce refrigerating capacity, structural packing is applied and argon is extracted through full rectification.
Following the elimination of dust and other mechanical impurities from process air in an air filter, the process air enters air compressor where it is compressed to a certain pressure, and then it is pre-cooled in an air cooling column. Water-feeding of air cooling column has two sections. The lower section of cooling column employs the circulating water which got water treatment, while the upper section of cooling column employs the water in low temperature which cooled by water cooling column. The top of air cooling column is installed web demister to prevent water is dragged out and to eliminate water drops in air.
The compressed air out of air cooling column enters the alternately-operated molecular sieve adsorbers where such impurities contained in air as moisture, CO2 and C2H2 etc. are adsorbed.
The purified air is divided into three streams: one of which withdrawn as instrument air; another stream flows into main heat exchanger (E1). Reflow gas is cooled to the saturation temperature and enters the lower column (C1). The rest stream, its capacity is as the same as the swelling capacity, enters booster to be boosted. Then, it is cooled to enter main heat exchanger (E1), and then, it is withdrawn from the middle section of main heat exchanger to enter turbo-expander (ET), most of the expanded air flows into the upper column. After it is primarily rectified, the liquid air is obtained from the bottom of lower column and the pure liquid nitrogen is obtained from the top of lower column. The liquid air and liquid nitrogen obtained from lower column enters to liquid air/liquid nitrogen sub-cooler (E2) to be sub-cooled, and then, it flows into the relative portion of the upper column. After further rectification in the upper column, the product gaseous oxygen is obtained in the bottom of upper column, while the liquid oxygen is withdrawn from the bottom of condenser vaporizer to enter storage system. The product gaseous oxygen is pressed to a certain pressure.
The product gaseous nitrogen is drawn from the top of upper column goes out of cold box after it is re-warmed in cold box and main heat exchanger. Then the gaseous nitrogen is pressed to a certain pressure.
